Vaccine Policy
At Magnolia Pediatrics, we follow evidence-based vaccine practices. We recognize the proven effectiveness of vaccines in preventing serious illness and saving lives. We know that vaccinations are safe, smart and necessary for the health and well-being of our patients, families and our community. Vaccinating your child may be the single most important health-promoting and life-saving intervention you can perform as a parent.
We have minimum requirements for vaccination including that the first vaccine(s) be given by 8 weeks of age, the MMR vaccine is given by 15 months of age and that the patient is up to date on most vaccines included in the AAP/CDC schedule by 24 months of age. Patients who are established in our practice will be asked to plan and adhere to a catch-up schedule suggested by their PMD, to meet the vaccine requirements. The AAP/CDC schedule can be found here.
We understand there is a lot of information about vaccines that prompts important questions for parents. We are happy to discuss immunizations and our vaccine policy in more detail. In addition, the following links are useful resources.
