After Hours care
When the office is closed, you can reach the appropriate after hours service through our answering service at 1-415-380-8700. Routine questions (mild illness, general appointment information, prescription refills) are best handled by our office staff during our regular office hours when we open at 9 am in the morning.
If you have a clinical concern, you will be directed to the After Hours Advice Nurse through our answering service. If it is an emergency, please call 911.
If after speaking to the nurse triage line, your child needs to be seen by a doctor, the triage nurse will help you schedule an appointment at the Pediatric After Hours Clinic. A detailed record of care will be sent electronically to our office, so that we are notified of your visit and can follow up appropriately.
We encourage you to refer to our parent resources section for questions about medication dosing or general information about common pediatric illnesses at our General Library. You may want to use the "Is Your Child Sick?" under parents resources as well.
